The practical answer
The Mobile Connector can be enough for low-mileage routines, travel, backup, or a temporary setup on a verified outlet. It becomes the wrong long-term plan when the outlet is questionable, charging must be predictable every night, cable handling is awkward, or the home really needs a permitted permanent Level 2 circuit.
Decision checklist
- Match the adapter, outlet, breaker, and Mobile Connector current setting.
- Use 120V charging only when daily mileage and parking time make it realistic.
- Use a verified 240V outlet only when it is installed for continuous EV charging.
- Move to a Wall Connector or other permanent EVSE when daily reliability matters.
